Update September 15, 2016: To clarify if a customer calls in and they are using the Arris WiFi escalate a ticket and we will come out and put in a Calix 844E router. This is better as it gives us more visibility in Consumer Connect.
Due to the high number of problems with the Arris WiFi we have decided to no longer use it.
If someone calls in with Arris WiFi cutting in and out please put in a ticket and we will look at other options.
On new Cable Internet installs with WiFi we will be putting in an Arris CM820 single port modem in bridge mode with a Calix 844e router.
Arris 860 modems can be put into bridge mode for use with a router. To do this we need to log into the modem and make sure WiFi is unchecked and then go to LAN Setup and set NAT Mode to Bridged. The modem will need to be rebooted after changing to bridged mode. The modem will need to be in bridge mode before the Calix 844e router will download it’s configuration and do it’s upgrade.
