Summary For Max Stream Count In Minerva
Amino Amulet 655m\7xx series (Black box that says Amino, doesn’t say Entone, but is an Entone on the inside) 6 streams (can do more but we usually set to 6 for FTTH)
Entone Amulet (red band across front) 455m 3 streams
Amino 540 (oval looking front) can do 5 streams but set max to 4 streams to avoid running into “disk error”
Entone Janus (says Janus Media Hub on the front) 4 streams
Details
While in the past we were 99% positive that we could do 5 streams on FTTH IPTV services Entone 455m only officially supports 3 streams. As far back as January we’ve had reports of customers having problems using more than three streams. Other PVRs seem to have different limitations.
Test Results
In each case if the stream count is set higher than the maximum in Minerva it will result in either “disk error” message or the recordings will appear to be recording however they will auto-delete or be “empty” when you try to play them back.
Entone Amulet 455m (firmware 3.4.10.5-mvn–qtwebkit-5.7.3.176 and test firmware 3.4.13_eng20) can do a maximum of 3 streams (record 2 watch 1, or record 3). Any additional streams give “disk error” message.
Amino 540 (firmware 3.3.2a12-Ax4x-think57-81-8-1) can do a maximum of 4 streams (record 4 watch 1) If you try to record the fifth stream that you are watching you will get “disk error” message.
Entone Janus (firmware 10.5.105.5-mvn–qtwebkit-5.7.3.161) can do a maximum of 4 streams (record 3 watch 1, or record 4)
We may want to correct stream counts for any Entone 455m PVRs that are currently set to 5 streams changing them to 3.
