Cable NOMS

If a cable modem is having troubles getting in sync or not working after being taken off vacation and is showing lots of flaps, check what the state the modem is in by clicking Query CMTS for this CableModem.

A pop up window will come up telling you the modem state. Refresh if it doesn’t load at first. If it is in a boot loop it will be getting stuck at init(rc) or init(io). If this is happening you can fix the problem by following these steps:

  1. In Ezlink NOMS click the Query CMTS cbr8-1.
  2. Select the Delete Modem query.
  3. Click Run Query.
  4. Wait for the modem to try syncing up once again. It should come on-line within a few minutes and no longer be flapping.
